More fun to come at Victoria Beer Week

Victoria Beer Week may be half over, but the fun is just getting started in the Garden City. Here’s a rundown of the events that are still to come…

Wednesday, March 7

Beer, Cheese, More Beer…

Beer and cheese, need we say more? Two of our greatest passions (or vices, depending on who you ask) come together for this popular event. More than a dozen beers will be on tap, paired with artisan cheeses from across Vancouver Island and B.C. 7pm (SOLD OUT) and 9pm (tickets still available) at the Victoria Public Market.

Thursday, March 8

All About The Wood

Taste the difference that wood-aging makes in a wide range of beer styles, including sours, Brett-conditioned beers, barley wines, imperial stouts and more. Possibly the best event of the week, with some crazy rare beers, like Powell’s Barrel Aged Brett Barleywine and Dageraad’s Entropy #6 and #7. Close to 30 beers in all will be available. 7:30pm at the Victoria Public Market (tickets still available).

Friday, March 9

Friday Night Casks

More than 25 unique cask conditioned beers will be tapped for this event, but it’s sold out, so you can’t go. 7:30pm at the Victoria Public Market (SOLD OUT).

Saturday, March 10

Sooke Beer Run

West Coast Brewery Tours is trucking the thirsty masses out to Sooke to check out the three fantastic breweries that have popped up there: Sooke Oceanside Brewery, Sooke Brewing Co. and Bad Dog Brewing. You’ll have to hitchhike along to this one, though, because it’s sold out, too. 1pm, bus leaves from Swans Brewpub.

Hoppy Birthday

Victoria Beer Week goes out with a bang with Hoppy Birthday at the Victoria Public Market, celebrating five years of fun in style. This one is gonna be fun-and-fancy, so dust off that prom dress, wedding suit, or bridesmaid gown. Thirteen breweries will be pouring beers all night long—you don’t have to worry about tickets or tokens, because the beer is free with your ticket. There’ll be live music and gourmet treats to soak up all that delicious beer, too. 8pm at the Victoria Public Market (tickets still available).
