Here’s what we’re drowning our sorrows with this week…
Knee Deep by Parallel 49 Brewing
6.8% ABV • 500 mL bottles
The latest release in Parallel 49’s Cork and Cage series, this barrel-aged sour saison spent six months in red wine barrels, imparting a “juicy berry character of raspberries, strawberries, and full-bodied red wine. Oak tannins and vanillins are accompanied by an earthy funk, citrusy tartness, and floral undertones, as well as notes of tart grapes, honey, and white peaches, in this crisp and effervescent beer.” Knee Deep is available at the brewery and in private retailers across B.C. and Alberta in the coming weeks.
Superraad by Dageraad (collab w/ Superflux Brewing)
6.5% ABV • 473 mL tall cans
Dageraad and Superflux teamed up to produce this farmhouse IPA that’s sure to blow everyone’s minds. Dry-hopped with Vic Secret, Superaad is can-conditioned and is available in the brewery and very lucky select private liquor stores as of Sept. 19.
Little Spoon by Twin Sails Brewing
3.4% ABV • 500 mL bottles
Brewed and aged in neutral oak barrels, with cold-steeped dried hibiscus flowers added seven days prior to packaging. “Notes of cranberry, herbal tea and lemon, along with an effervescent texture and bright red colour, makes this beer jump out of the glass.” Available in the brewery or on Twin Sails’ online store.
