Vancouver Craft Beer Week’s 10th annual celebration of craft beer and craft culture starts in sparkly style on May 31 with a massive sequined kickoff party at the Beaumont Studio.

More than 40 breweries will be taking part, along with food trucks, live music and DJs, as well as interactive visual and performing arts. Since the traditional 10th anniversary gift is aluminum, all the beers will be canned and partygoers, the décor will be shiny and partygoers are encouraged to get down with their  sparkly selves.

Breweries taking part will be 33 Acres, Andina, Backcountry, Bomber, Bridge, Callister, Category 12, Collective Arts, Dageraad, Dead Frog, Deep Cove, Driftwood, East Van, Fernie, Four Winds, Fuggles & Warlock, Hoyne, Loudmouth, Main Street, Mariner, Monkey 9, Northpaw, Old Yale, Parallel 49, Persephone, Phillips, Powell, Red Racer, Russell, Slow Hand, Smugglers’ Trail Caskworks, Steamworks, Steel & Oak, Strange Fellows, Strathcona, Superflux, Taylight, Twa Dogs, Vancouver Island, Whistler, Wildeye and Yellow Dog, as well as plus Nude Vodka Soda and Coco Frio.

The kickoff party will also play host to ArtSee, an evolving interactive visual and performing arts series that takes place on the last Friday of every month at Beaumont Studios. Over 40 artists create inside the Beaumont’s studios and they’re opening up their spaces to share their amazing art and to talk about how it’s made.

$25 gets you your first beer and entry (additional bevvies are $6). VCBW’s Kickoff goes from 6–10 p.m. on Friday, May 31, and then the Beaumont takes over for the after party—they’ll be sure to keep the party going until late! Tickets available online at VancouverCraftBeerWeek.com.

This event is 19+ only, two pieces of ID required for entry. Serving It Right rules apply, please be sure to drink responsibly and plan for a safe ride home.
