East Vancouver’s Red Truck Beer picked up two recent gold medals for its Road Trip Classic Lager, taking the top prize in the Canadian Brewing Awards and the Canadian International Beer Awards.

The Road Trip Classic Lager won gold in the North American Style Premium Lager category at the Canadian Brewing Awards and in the Light Lager category at the Canadian International Beer Awards (formerly known as the Calgary International Beerfest Awards), earlier this month.

“At Red Truck Beer, awards will always come a distant second behind pleasing loyal fans, satisfying thirsts, and being part of great times, but recent gold medals for our signature Road Trip Classic Lager… are something that our entire team will share with pride,” the brewery said in a press release.

Road Trip Classic Lager is a European-style lager that’s straw in colour and made with Saaz hops and Canadian malts. According to the brewery, it’s cool fermented and conditioned for a minimum of five weeks, with grassy hops and light malt aromas “that evoke summer days by the water.”
