Rebranded Victoria Beer Society to bring year-round events to the capitol

Year-round beer events and craft beer-focused programming are coming to Victoria courtesy of the newly-formed Victoria Beer Society. Formerly the Victoria Beer Week Society, the group decided to rebrand and transition into a year-round event producer after taking over the Great Canadian Beer Festival this past November.

Director Joe Wiebe says the group is planning an entire calendar full of events in the birthplace of craft beer, including pop-up beer gardens, craft beer block parties, beer education courses, perhaps even an Oktoberfest event—all in addition to existing events like Victoria Beer Week, GCBF and Fresh to Death.

“We want to celebrate craft beer culture year-round,” says Wiebe.

The Victoria Beer Society has also launched a membership program that provides ticket discounts to its events and merch, exclusive access to VBW member events, and free admission to the Beer Garden pilot project. Annual membership is just $25, more information available at VictoriaBeerSociety.com.

Victoria Beer Week takes place March 1-9. For more info on the full, 21-event lineup, visit VictoriaBeerWeek.com.
