Windfall Cider to close North Van taproom
Windfall Cider appears to have abruptly closed. With glassware seemingly ready to go and t-shirts still hung inside, a handwritten note on the urban cidery’s door unhelpfully reads:
“Thank you for being part of our journey. Windfall’s tasting room will be closing its doors. We are sad to say goodbye, but we are so grateful for all of you.
If you want to stay in touch or say hi you can reach us @windfallcider.
Windfall loves you ♡”
We reached out for further details, such as a firm closing date and if production and distribution will continue, but have not yet heard back.
This latest closure has some speculating online about the future of craft on Esplanade, where Braggot closed in February and House of Funk closed in the fall. What do you think? Sound off in the comments.

Brewed as a braggot, Humblebee’s mead is low ABV and gluten-free, incorporating aromatic flavours into the medieval beverage. The tasting room is open Thursdays and Fridays from 4 to 10pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 2 to 10pm.
