More burgers are comin’ in hot in Vancouver with a fresh new concept opening up at a local brewery
More burgers are comin’ in hot this winter in Vancouver, as a new venture from some hospitality industry vets is ready to smash things up with a new spot launching in December inside a local craft brewery’s tasting room.
Kapow! Burger will set up shop inside Mount Pleasant’s Electric Bicycle Brewing at 20 E 4th Ave, and will serve its first smashburgers to the public on Friday, Dec. 1.
Guests will be able to order the Kapow! menu from the brewery or “straight from the streetside,” according to a release issued by the burger concept.
Kapow! is the project of local hospitality pro Jacob Sweetapple, who has been well-known on the cocktail scene for over 15 years and has been in the role of Managing Partner of Notion Concepts since 2021.
Sweetapple’s mission with Kapow! is as powerful as a superhero’s punch; the vision is to have six locations running in the next year, offering a real “neighbourhood staple” vibe for burger lovers.
Tasked with heading up menu development for Kapow! is another established Vancouver chef, Alessandro Vianello, who heads up his own Vianello Hospitality, and has consulted on many top-notch menus across town, including spots like Mahony’s Tavern as well as more recently, the West End’s Jungle Room. Vianello is well-versed in the art of the burger; he was behind growing Gastown’s Pourhouse’s burger menu a few years back when he was with Kitchen Table Group.
“We’re all about blending quality, taste, and affordability,” describes Vianello of what Kapow! Burger is about.
The Kapow! menu will feature six burgers, including a classic cheeseburger, as well as a kids’ option and even a “Pup Pals” treat for dogs.
