Penticton is celebrating all things craft beer as Canada’s Craft Beer Capital (according to travel guide Lonely Planet) has officially proclaimed Oct. 16-24 as Penticton Beer Week 2020.

The week features a full lineup of COVID-friendly events and virtual meet-ups, including beer releases, happy hours and an Oktoberfest celebration. For the full lineup of events, visit VisitPenticton.com.

The city’s seven craft breweries (Bad Tattoo, Barley Mill, Cannery, Highway 97, Neigbourhood, Slackwater and Tin Whistle) have also teamed up to brew a special collaboration beer called Penticton Seven to commemorate beer week. The limited release hazy pale ale was brewed at Bad Tattoo and features Eukanot and El Dorado hops.

Penticton Seven will be available on tap at each of the participating breweries as well as select local restaurants in Penticton and surrounding area during Penticton Beer Week. It will also be available in four-packs of 473 mL cans at private liquor stores in Penticton and throughout B.C. during the month of October. For a list of where to buy Penticton Seven, click here. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the B.C. Hospitality Foundation (BCHF), a registered charity that raises funds to support those in the hospitality industry facing financial crisis due to a health condition. The BCHF will allocate these proceeds to Okanagan based recipients.
