Here’s what we’re slipping into our IV bag this week…
Imperial Gerwurztraminer Gose by Field House Brewing (collab w/ Ravens Brewing)
Salted sour wheat ale • 6.7% ABV • 10 IBU • 650 mL bottles
Brewed in collaboration with Ravens Brewing—who know something about making a decent gose—this boozy take on the traditional salted sour wheat ale features coriander and sea salt from the Vancouver Island Salt Co., and was steeped on local Gewürztraminer grape skins, pulling aromas of rose petal and lychee while adding flavours of peach and apricot.
Seawise Giant by Container Brewing
Imperial stout • 11.2% ABV • 473 mL tall cans
East Van’s Container Brewing has released this beast of beer, aptly named for the largest ship ever built. This imperial stout was brewed with cacao nibs and weighs in at a whopping 11.2% ABV. Seawise Giant will be available in select stores next week.
Mexican Street Lager by Strathcona Beer Co.
Mexican Amber Lager • 6.3% ABV • 473 mL tall cans
Strathcona teamed up with B.C.’s beloved Baja beach bite boutique, Tacofino, to create this crisp, crushable amber lager. Featuring a base of malted Maris Otter, flaked corn and lightly hopped with Wakatu, it clocks in at 6.3% ABV and promises a mellow citrus flavour and dry finish. Available at the brewery and all Vancouver Tacofino locations as of this Friday, Nov. 8.
