Here’s what we’re going to be tickling our tastebuds with this week…
Murder City by Dageraad Brewing
4.2% ABV • 473 mL tall cans
Dageraad teamed up with their East Coast buddies 2 Crows Brewing in Halifax to create this kveik-fermented pale ale. Dry-hopped with Citra and Motueka, Murder City is can-conditioned for added carbonation and complexity of flavour. Murder City will be available in cans and on draught (no fills) at the Dageraad tasting room.
Lil Red 5.0 Belgian Red Sour by Townsite Brewing
6.0% ABV • 750 mL bottles
The latest edition of Townsite’s Lil Red is out in brand new 750 mL bottles. Lil Red is a blended Belgian sour red ale made from two base beers; a kettle sour saison and a Belgian dubbel with brewer Cedric Dauchot’s hand-made candi sugar. These two beers were blended in an oak foeder, where they aged on Brettanomyces and other wild organisms creating a one of kind wild sour ale. This beer will be available to only a select number of stores in the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island next week.
Melosia by Foamers’ Folly Brewing Co.
9.7% ABV • 500 mL bottles
This Belgian-inspired brown ale promises to be “amazingly complex, blending oak with fruity esters and a hint of tartness.” Fermented with a blend of three different strains of Brettanomyces yeast and acidifying bacteria, then aged for one year in an oak foeder.
