Saison • 7.0% ABV • 750 mL bottles

Everyone’s favourite belgophiles are turning seven this week, so Burnaby’s Dageraad Brewing is releasing a 7.0% ABV saison called Seven to celebrate. Seven has been 14 months in the making, brewed with orange peel, fennel seed and star anise for a herbal, fruity, and complex flavour. According to the brewery, “it’s a refined drinking experience, demanding of a toast – be that across webcams or a balcony overlook. And please, when you do raise your glass of Seven this week, know that tucked away in an unassuming bay at the foot of Mt. Burnaby, a shiftless pack of beer makers are raising theirs in kind. Cheers.” Seven is currently available in Dageraad’s webstore for delivery or pickup, and will be on tap in the brewery’s tasting room as of Thursday. Expect to see it in stores around the province next week.

West Coast IPA • 6.8% ABV • 473 mL tall cans

This West Coast throwback by Langley’s Camp Beer Co. is back and in outdoor-friendly tall cans for the first time. Redwood Amber IPA is all about those dank Big C hops and a big, beautiful, biscuity malt character. Crammed with flavour and a dry finish that’ll leave you wanting another. Currently available on draft and in cans at the brewery.

The latest release from Surrey’s Russell Brewing is this fruity little number featuring strawberries, kiwis, vanilla, and milk sugar. Does it taste like beer? Probably not. Does it need to?
