Kolsch • 5.0% ABV • 473 mL tall cans

This traditional German-style lagered ale by Vancouver’s Brewhall took home gold at the 2019 B.C. Beer Awards in the Pale German Beer category. Belgian-style sour ale • 5.8% ABV • 500 mL bottles

The newest release Central Saanich’s Category 12 Brewing’s Barrelholder Series is this barrel-aged red sour ale. “Epiphany is a meticulously blended ode to venerable Belgian styles: a complex barrel aged sour two and a half years in the making is softened with another barrel-aged sour a year younger, allowing the mixed fermentation to coalesce into an aromatic celebration of soft tartness and smooth complexity. Yelling “Eureka!” after consumption completely optional.”

Imperial stout • 9.0% ABV • 50 IBU • 473 mL tall cans

This Monty Python-themed coconut and chocolate imperial stout by Squamish’s Backcountry Brewing is very apropos given the recent passing of Terry Jones. Conditioned on cocoa nibs from East Van Roasters and copious amounts of toasted coconut carried by way of a fully-laden African swallow. Now available on draught, fills, and in cans at the brewery, as well as at select private retailers.
