Powell River’s Townsite Brewing has released the 2019 version of its foeder-aged Thaddeus oud bruin. The Belgian sour brown ale was made with homemade candi sugar and midnight wheat and aged in an oak foeder. “On the nose you can smell balsamic vinegar and red berries notes, with sweet raisin and figs notes. The taste is upfront sour with an aftertaste of berries, figs and prunes with a slight astringent finish,” according to the brewery. Available at the Townsite tasting room and in select private liquor stores.
