Here’s what we’re drinking while our cat silently judges us this week…
We Love You by Steel & Oak Brewing
Double IPA • 8.0% ABV • 58 IBU • 473 mL tall cans
This big, juicy, hazy double IPA by New Westminster’s Steel & Oak Brewing offers gobs of coconut, pineapple and stone fruit flavours, but most importantly, proceeds of each four-pack sold will go to the B.C. Hospitality Foundation to support the hundreds of thousands of hospitality industry workers that have lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 outbreak. We Love You is available now in the Steel & Oak retail store, or for delivery orders via the brewery’s online shop.
Island Cerveza by Granville Island Brewing
Cuban-style lager • 4.5% ABV • 473 mL tall cans
We could all use the opportunity to mentally transport ourselves somewhere far away from COVID-19, to happier times when you could be on a sunny beach blissfully unaware of the term social distancing. Island Cerveza by Granville Island Brewing is a Cuban-style lager made with real cane sugar and offering subtle rum notes, promising to be exceptionally crisp, smooth and light tasting. Available in retail stores, or for curbside pick-up or delivery from GIB when ordered through its website, Uber Eats or Skip the Dishes.
Full Moon Spiced Earl Grey Dark Ale
Dark ale • 4.5% ABV • 25 IBU • 473 mL tall cans
This dark ale from Penticton’s Highway 97 Brewing has the added twist of Earl Grey tea and vanilla beans, promising “notes of soothing spice and the complexity of some darker roasted Western Canadian two row barley for a balanced, full-bodied flavour,” according to the brewery. Full Moon is available at the brewery and for delivery in the Penticton area.
