Here’s what we’re leaving out for Santa this week…
Vinifera: Gamay 2020 by Temporal Artisan Ales
Wild grape ale • 8.5% ABV • 750 mL bottles
East Vancouver’s Temporal Artisan Ales is releasing its Vinifera: Gamay 2020 today, and with only 180 bottles available at the Luppolo Brewing tasting room, don’t expect it to last long. This blend of beers was aged in French oak barrels for 20 months, then re-fermented with 100 kg of Gamay grapes.
Nuclear Weapons Free Zone Sabro IPA by White Sails Brewing
India pale ale • 5.1% ABV • 38 IBU • 473 mL tall cans
The newest seasonal IPA from Nanaimo’s White Sails Brewing features a blend of Sabro and Ekuanot used during the boil, then dry-hopped with even more Sabro for a “a unique ripe fruit flavour and a subtle and interesting herbal (almost minty) zing on the finish.” Brewed with clean California Ale yeast to showcase the Sabro hop. Nuclear Weapons Free Zone is available at Vancouver Island craft beer retailers and in the taproom for draft, fills and to-go.
Hazy Sour Double IPA by Field House Chilliwack
Sour imperial India pale ale • 7.5% ABV • 22 IBU • 473 mL tall cans
The latest release from Abbotsford’s Field House Brewing promises to be strong and hazy. This fruit-forward sour ale is aggressively dry-hopped giving it loads of citrus and tropical fruit character without much bitterness.
