Here’s what we’re reminiscing about the “before times” over this week…sigh…
Clairvoyance by Four Winds Brewing (collab w/ Nomad Cider)
Farmhouse ale • 7.0% ABV • 3 IBU • 750 mL bottles
This farmhouse ale from Delta’s Four Winds Brewing was fermented with yeast on the skin of Nomad Estate cider apples. Originally conditioned in an oak foeder, Clairvoyance was then conditioned in stainless steel on Pinot Noir grape pomace for another two months. According to the brewery, the result is an “effervescent, pucker-inducing nod to the three drinks that usher in the spring: beer, cider and wine.” Available for sale through Four Winds’ online shop and through the takeout window at the tasting room as of Tuesday, as well as liquor stores across the province.
Finish Line by Fernie Brewing Co.
Hazy session pale ale • 4.0% ABV • 25 IBU • 355 mL cans
This refreshing, light hazy pale ale from Fernie Brewing Co. features a hint of lime and some serious sessionability at 4.0% ABV. Along the lines of Fernie’s award-winning Hit the Deck, Finish Line is packed full of Citra and Vic Secret hops, unfiltered and full of flavour. Perfect for summer adventures—once we’re allowed to have them. Available at select liquor stores around the province or for pick-up at the brewery itself.
Brumeux by Île Sauvage Brewing
Sour IPA • 6.5% ABV • 40 IBU • 473 mL tall cans
“Brumeux” is French for hazy, and this sour hazy IPA from Victoria’s Île Sauvage Brewing features oodles of Amarillo, El Dorado and Mosaic hops. It was blended with a foeder-aged mixed culture sour and dry-hopped again, resulting in “overripe tropical fruit and brett on the nose, full juice-forward flavour with a dry, tart, and bitter finish.” Available for delivery in the Greater Victoria area.
