International Beer Day
As if you need another excuse to crack a cold one, but its International Beer Day today, which is totally a thing. Personally, EVERY day is Beer Day here in Growlerland, but we can get behind making it official.
We’re assuming Aug. 5 is International Hangover Day. Or at the very least, International Eggs Benny and Caesar For Breakfast Day.

Iron Road Brewing opens in Kamloops
Kamloops has another craft brewery to call its own with the opening of Iron Road Brewing this week. Located right next to the Thompson Rivers University campus, the 60-person taproom is the passion project of geologists Richard Phillips and Jared Tarswell, who are working with former Main Street brewer Aaron MacInnis.
Out of the gate, Iron Road is going to be offering a lager, pale ale, IPA, summer ale, and a farmhouse sour ale.
Iron Road boasts a full food menu too, with tacos and Mexican street fare on offer.

Main Street gets artistic
Main Street Brewing has teamed up with the Vancouver Mural Festival to offer limited edition bottles of their Single-Hopped Grisette.
The Belgian style table saison is hopped with German Hallertauer Blanc hops and fermented with a blend of French and Belgian saison yeasts for a peppery aroma and a dry finish. The beer comes in at 5.0% ABV, with 16 IBUs.
The bottles also feature artwork from some of the artists taking part in this year’s festival.
The Vancouver Mural Festival runs Aug. 7-12.
