Here’s what we’re looking forward to shoving down our throats this week…

6.8% ABV, 5.5% ABV • 473 mL tall cans

Luppolo has a couple of can releases this month. First up is Missing Lynx Hazy IPA, described as “the missing link between what you love about both West and East Coast IPAs. Missing Lynx is a Hazy IPA with aromas of tropical and stone fruit followed by subtle piney earthiness. This balanced beer brings big flavours of mango and tangerine with just a hint of resinous spice. That’s enough to end a coastal beef once and for all!” Meanwhile Luppolo’s Gold Medal Deer Northwest Red Ale is also being released in cans this week. This dry-hopped amber ale won gold at the 2018 Canadian Brewing Awards and features Citra and Columbus hops to provide citrus and tropical fruit aromas.

6.5% ABV • 50 IBU • 650 mL bottles

Pretty Fly for a White I-PA is a hybrid between a Belgian witbier and an IPA, brewed with a Belgian yeast strain, orange peel and hopped with fruity “new world” hops: Centennial, Denali and Enigma. The beer is the latest in a series of local brewery collaborations with Joe Leary and Rick Mohabir of the Just Here For The Beer radio show on TSN 1040. This is the fifth in a series of music-themed pun named beers, and R&B’s version is a take off on The Offspring’s Pretty Fly for a White Guy. Obviously.

Pretty Fly for a White I-PA will be on tap this week at R&B and will also be available for sale in 650 mL bottles. Distribution of kegs and bottles will start shortly after.

Burnaby’s Steamworks Brewing has added Hazy Pale Ale to its core lineup of award-winning beers.

According to the brewery, it’s “loaded with exotic New Zealand hops, [bringing] big tropical fruit and bright citrus aromas. This brew lands in the perfect sweet spot of sessionability without sacrificing flavor.”

Available in single cans in Steamworks’ taproom and liquor store now and in liquor stores across the province next week.
